Hans Brinker is a dynamic and vibrant hostel in the center of Amsterdam with nearly 600 beds. In January 2024 we added Ms Chelin, a new restaurant inside the hostel. The restaurant serves a small but high quality menu and a nice range of drinks and cocktails. We are looking for a line cook In this role, it's your responsibility to ensure quality food every day. To achieve the best requires excellent control over the operation, the kitchen materials and a critical control of the quality of the products delivered and all the dishes that leave the pass. Management and communication skills, a critical eye, a big sense of responsibility and a hands-on mentality are examples of skills and qualities we are looking for.

JOB DESCRIPTION

● Setting up and stocking food items and other necessary supplies.

● Preparing food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.

● Cooking, grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.

● Maintaining cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage (HACCP and BHV preferred)

● Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.

● Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
