The Engineering Coordinator at Waldorf Astoria plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all technical and engineering systems within the hotel. This role involves coordinating engineering activities, managing preventive maintenance schedules, and supporting the engineering team in maintaining the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
Engineering Operations:
Assist the Engineer manager in coordinating and supervising the daily operations of the engineering team.
Maintain and update records for maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Ensure all engineering work complies with hotel standards, local regulations, and safety protocols.
Project and Maintenance Coordination:
Oversee the scheduling and execution of preventive maintenance for equipment, facilities, and guest rooms.
Support engineering staff in addressing guest service requests promptly and effectively.
Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely delivery of projects and services.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare and maintain accurate records of energy consumption, utility usage, and maintenance logs.
Generate reports on engineering performance and submit them to the Engineering manager.
Organize and manage technical documentation, including manuals, safety protocols, and compliance certificates.
Team Support:
Schedule team meetings, training sessions, and safety drills for the engineering department.
Act as a point of contact for other hotel departments to coordinate maintenance or repair work with minimal disruption to operations.
Assist in ordering and managing the inventory of spare parts and supplies.
Guest Experience:
Ensure that all maintenance activities align with the hotel’s commitment to delivering a seamless luxury guest experience.
Work with the engineering team to quickly address and resolve any issues affecting guest satisfaction.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Proficiency in maintenance management systems and software (e.g., Hotel PMS systems, CMMS tools).
Basic technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and hotel facilities.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to hotel operations.
