Salesforce Developer

As a Salesforce Developer at Jumbo, you enhance our service center, supporting stores and customers with innovative solutions.

Working with and for a smile

Jumbo’s ambition is to be the most customer-oriented company. We want to surprise customers and exceed expectations, so they enjoy shopping with us. With over 700 stores in the Netherlands and Belgium, the option to have groceries delivered via jumbo.com, our own distribution centers, and office colleagues, we work together every day towards this ambition. Together, we strive to win over the customer.

As a Salesforce Developer, you make a significant contribution to Jumbo by continuously improving our internal service center. Your contributions ensure that our stores and Jumbo’s customers are optimally supported. You work in a scrum team and deliver measurable value to the customer journey every two weeks.

Getting started! This is what you’ll do

The main responsibilities within the team focus on gathering and analyzing business requirements to create technical designs and develop Salesforce solutions. You work closely with cross-functional teams to implement and integrate these solutions with other systems.

Additionally, writing clean, efficient, and scalable code in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and other programming languages if necessary, is a key task. Performing unit tests, debugging, and problem-solving are essential to ensure the quality and stability of Salesforce applications. But also participating in code reviews and providing constructive feedback to colleagues contributes to the continuous improvement of the codebase.

Your workday as a Salesforce Developer at Jumbo:

  • 09:00 – 09:15 In the daily standup, you share the progress on the story you’re working on and hear what your colleagues are doing. Stuck? Ask a colleague for extra input!
  • 09:20 – 12:00 After a strong cup of coffee, you and a close colleague tackle a problem. After consultation, you describe a solution direction to discuss with your team later in the day.
  • 12:00 – 13:00 Enjoy a nice lunch with your colleagues at the food café and then take a short walk in the fresh air. An ideal moment to chat with your colleagues and continue with a fresh perspective.
  • 13:00 – 15:00 Work independently on some of your tasks. With your headphones on, you won’t be disturbed and can focus fully on an exciting challenge.
  • 15:00 – 16:00 Have a team-wide meeting with your teammates. Present the solution direction you worked on this morning and discuss other ongoing matters with your team.
  • 16:00 – 17:00 Finish your tasks, help a colleague via Slack by answering a question, and quickly send an update on your work before wrapping up for the day.

Together we are Jumbo: Here you will work

You are part of the Salesforce Innovation team. The team consists of various Salesforce developers, each with their own expertise. The team works two days a week at the headquarters: on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

At Jumbo, we look for go-getters, people with good ideas and the courage to work together on them. We care for each other: our customers, colleagues, and the world around us, and we want to do a little better every day.   • 3+ years of experience in Salesforce development and implementation;
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I, App Builder, or Administrator certification;
  • Experience with Salesforce Flow, Apex, and Lightning Web Components (LWC) or Aura;
  • Knowledge of integration patterns and experience integrating external systems using Salesforce APIs, Web services, Connected Apps.
