IT Consultant Master Data Management

As a consultant at Jumbo, you translate customer feedback into IT solutions and advise on innovations and improvements.

Working with and for a smile
Jumbo's ambition is to be the most customer-oriented company. We aim to surprise our customers and exceed expectations so they enjoy shopping with us. With over 700 stores in the Netherlands and Belgium, the option to have groceries delivered via jumbo.com, our own distribution centers, and office colleagues, we work together every day to achieve this ambition. Collaborating to win over the customer is what drives us at Jumbo.

Get started! This is what you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing the process design within Jumbo's IT application landscape, focusing on critical business applications such as EBX - Master Data Management. You will conduct in-depth analyses on functional impact, risks, feasibility, and cost/benefit considerations. Based on your findings, you will create epics to discuss with the product owner, which will serve as input for the portfolio plan. Additionally, you will provide recommendations to improve the system’s efficiency and effectiveness.
What makes this position unique at Jumbo is that you directly contribute to improving processes critical to our organization's success. Your work in master data management enables our teams to work faster and smarter, leading to better decision-making and higher customer satisfaction. For professionals looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment, Jumbo offers a challenging and rewarding role at the core of our IT operations.

Your workday as a consultant at Jumbo:

  • 09:00 – 09:30: Start your day with a cup of coffee and check the latest updates on your current epics.
  • 09:30 – 10:30: Backlog refinement meeting. During this session, you’ll discuss priorities for the upcoming sprint with your team and the product owner.
  • 10:30 – 11:00: Business stakeholder meeting. Dive deeper into business requirements for new IT products or updates with business representatives.
  • 12:00 – 12:45: Lunch with colleagues in our Food Café.
  • 13:00 – 14:00: Collaboration session with the PO. Together, you’ll review the progress of ongoing epics, business feedback, and adjust the backlog if needed.
  • 14:00 – 17:00: Spend the rest of the day working on analyses and designs, drafting improvement proposals, and communicating with the development team.

Together, we are Jumbo: Where you'll work
Our team is a close-knit group of developers, testers, and consultants who contribute to Jumbo’s Master Data Management (MDM) product. We prioritize collaboration and quality, working closely to deliver a high-value product. In addition to our core team, we collaborate with other MDM and IT teams across the organization. We work in a hybrid model, spending two days a week at our Veghel office and the rest of the time working flexibly from home.

It’s typically you

At Jumbo, we’re looking for go-getters with great ideas and the courage to put them into action. Additionally, you have:

  • Extensive experience with master data management tools, preferably Tibco EBX.
  • HBO-level working and thinking ability, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong technical expertise and the ability to translate functional requirements into practical and efficient solutions.
  • A process- and chain-oriented mindset, with an eye for the bigger picture and how systems and processes interconnect.
  • A proactive attitude and contagious enthusiasm for master data, inspiring and convincing others.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and build consensus.
