At Fokker Landing Gear in Papendrecht, we are expanding our Manufacturing Engineering team and looking for a Manufacturing Engineer (Product & Planning) to help ensure seamless production processes. Fokker Landing Gear specializes in the design, development, production, and assembly of landing gears and related systems. We also focus on repair and reassembly of existing systems. Our work supports world-renowned aircraft, including the Apache combat helicopter, the F-35 Lightning II (JSF), the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, and the NH90 maritime combat helicopter.

Functie

As a Manufacturing Engineer (Product & Planning), you will be a crucial member of an Integrated Product Team (IPT), ensuring smooth operational deliveries. You will be responsible for analyzing production characteristics, managing Level 1 (L1) non-conformities, defining temporary production instructions, and preparing dispositions for Level 2 (L2) non-conformities. Your goal? Advancing to a Non-Conformity (NC) approver role while continuously improving production processes.

Your responsibilities

• Develop technical solutions to complex problems, ensuring compliance with GKN Aerospace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
• Provide technical support for manufacturing development and integration for production.
• Resolve issues related to vendor schedules and quality.
• Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective actions to reduce non-conformities.
• Oversee the implementation of tooling and production planning using Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) methodologies.
• Manage product development, first article development, configuration changes, and build process implementation.
• Deliver measurable, results-driven improvements aligned with Operational & Program goals.
• Foster strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.

Functie-eisen

• Experience in product/process introduction (industrialization) and production process improvements.
• 1 to 7 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
• A degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Automotive, or related field).
• Strong influencing and relationship-building skills within a global organization.
• Working knowledge of LEAN processes and quality systems (ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000).
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
• Familiarity with machining processes (milling, mill-turn, boring, honing) and/or surface treatment processes (heat treatment, plating, shot-peen, NDI) is a plus.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Preferred

• Strong influencing and relationship-building skills within a global organization.
• Working knowledge of LEAN processes and quality systems (ISO9000, AS9100.
